Jefferson Davis High School is a public high school located in central Montgomery, Alabama at 3420 Carter Hill Road, with grades 9 through 12. Jeff Davis' main building was orginally built in the late 1960's and the addition was built in the early 1970's.
The current principal is Mr. Bobby E. Abrams, Jr. Student enrollment for 2016-17 is approximately, 1,900 students.
Advanced Placement (AP) Classes:
The AP program enhances student preparedness for the rigors of college and students may receive college credit for AP classes. AP classes facilitate competitiveness in college and career. Weighted grades are given for accelerated classes.
ACCESS (Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators, & Students Statewide)
Is an education initiative of the state that provides opportunities and options for Alabama public high school students to engage in AP classes, foreign language classes, and other elective courses to which they may not otherwise have access.
Students may choose from several elective courses. These include art, computer applications, driver's education, health education, art, choir, physical education, Spanish, and speech. Creative thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and skills expansion are encouraged in all subject areas. Students are supported in their pursuits of individual product and theory development.
A minimum of 24 units are required for graduation. English 4; Math 4; Science 4; Social Studies 4; Foreign Language 2; PE 1; Art ½; Computer Application ½; Health ½; Other Electives 3.5.
